The significant box office failure of Disney’s ‘Snow White’ remake has led to online mockery directed at Rachel Zegler. With a $250 million budget, the film’s meager $43 million domestic opening has placed it in a precarious financial position, as reported by Fortune.
Marc Webb’s ‘Snow White’ struggled globally, adding $44.3 million overseas for a total launch of $87.3 million. Compounding the film’s woes, images and videos of sparsely populated theaters have circulated online, leading to widespread criticism of both Disney and star Rachel Zegler.
From the moment Rachel Zegler was cast as Snow White, the 23-year-old actress found herself embroiled in controversy, particularly for her comments on the original 1937 film. This prior criticism has now been compounded by the remake’s box office failure. An old video of Zegler’s confident prediction that audiences would ‘wait in line’ to see her films has resurfaced on X, where Ian Miles Cheong used it to emphasize the film’s disastrous performance.
