Bollywood’s leading production powerhouse Yash Raj Films (YRF) has officially lifted the curtain on one of its much-anticipated projects, Saiyaara. The announcement, made via the studio’s social media channels, has created a buzz across the industry and among film enthusiasts. The film is especially significant as it marks not just YRF’s first creative partnership with renowned director Mohit Suri but also the acting debut of Ahaan Panday, who belongs to a family closely connected to the Bollywood fraternity.
The young and promising Ahaan Panday, cousin to actress Ananya Panday and son of fitness expert Deanne Panday and businessman Chikki Panday, is all set to make his big-screen debut with this film. Alongside him, Aneet Padda — known for her performances in Big Girls Don’t Cry and Salaam Venky — has been roped in as the female lead. The makers have revealed that Saiyaara will be an “intense love story,” one that aims to leave a lasting impression on audiences with its emotional depth and storytelling finesse.
The film is slated for a theatrical release on July 18 this year, adding yet another highly-anticipated title to the Bollywood release calendar. As per the announcement, Saiyaara will be presented under the banner of Yash Raj Films by none other than Aditya Chopra, with Mohit Suri at the director’s helm and Akshaye Widhani producing the film.
YRF, sharing the news on Instagram, described the film as “a love story like no other,” accompanied by heartfelt emojis, hinting at a narrative packed with passion, emotion, and musical soul. The post instantly sparked excitement, not only from fans but also from Ahaan’s family members, who took to social media to express their joy and pride.
Alanna Panday, Ahaan’s sister, reshared the official announcement on her Instagram Stories, writing, “Waited so long for this day,” along with a red heart emoji, capturing the pride and happiness felt within the family. Ananya Panday also couldn’t hold back her excitement and celebrated her cousin’s big moment by reposting the announcement and writing, “Welcome to the movies, my brother,” along with a mix of heartfelt and protective emojis.
Beyond introducing Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda to audiences, Saiyaara also marks an exciting new chapter for director Mohit Suri, whose name is synonymous with delivering hit romantic thrillers like Aashiqui 2, Ek Villain, and Malang. This collaboration with YRF signals a meeting of creative minds that fans of the genre are eagerly looking forward to.
Interestingly, the announcement of Saiyaara comes right on the heels of Yash Raj Films revealing updates about another major project — Mardaani 3. The third installment of this hard-hitting crime thriller franchise, headlined by Rani Mukerji, is scheduled to release in theatres on February 27, 2026. Rani will reprise her role as Senior Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy, the sharp, fearless, and determined police officer who has become a fan-favorite for her relentless pursuit of justice.
With two significant projects now on the horizon — Saiyaara, which promises to explore the intricate layers of love, and Mardaani 3, which brings back hard-hitting action — YRF seems poised to once again dominate the big screen, offering audiences both heartwarming romance and gritty storytelling in the coming years.
