Salman Khan Opens Up About the Physical Toll of Action Roles at 59: “Each Year, It Gets Tougher”

Superstar Salman Khan, who has been a defining force in Bollywood for over three decades, recently opened up about the increasing physical demands of performing action scenes as he grows older. At 59, the beloved actor admitted that the intense physicality required for such roles isn’t as easy to pull off as it once was.

In a candid conversation, Salman reflected on how he used to bounce back into action mode with ease in the earlier days of his career. “There was a time when I could get into shape in just a week or two. I would train, push myself hard, and be completely ready for the most challenging action sequences. Now, things have changed,” he revealed.

The actor, known for iconic action films like Wanted, Dabangg, Tiger Zinda Hai, and the recent Tiger 3, acknowledged that age has brought new limitations. “As the years pass, the recovery time increases, the joints don’t cooperate the same way, and the body takes a little longer to respond to training. I still give it my all, but I can feel the difference,” he said.

Despite these challenges, Salman continues to remain dedicated to his craft. His action scenes still carry the same impact, largely due to his commitment to staying fit and pushing himself even when it’s difficult. “Action is a key part of my films, and the audience expects a certain energy and intensity from me. I can’t let them down. So I work harder now—more hours, more discipline, more preparation,” he added.

The actor also mentioned how his training routines have evolved. Earlier, short bursts of focused workouts would suffice. Now, he needs a more structured approach, with attention to recovery, flexibility, and endurance. “It’s not just about building muscle anymore; it’s about preserving strength, avoiding injury, and staying agile,” Salman noted.

Fans of Salman Khan continue to admire his screen presence, but few may realize the level of effort and dedication that goes into making every punch, kick, and chase scene look effortless. As he approaches 60, Salman’s honesty about the physical toll of his roles makes one appreciate his commitment even more.

Still active and thriving in the industry, Salman Khan is proof that age is just a number—but it does come with its own set of adjustments. His openness about the struggle behind the scenes only strengthens his bond with fans who have grown up watching him defy odds, both on and off screen.
