Rashmika Mandanna Opens Up on Online Hate, Negative PR & Misunderstood Kindness: “We Need to Let People Be Human”

Actress Rashmika Mandanna has once again chosen honesty over silence as she bravely addressed the constant trolling, harsh judgment, and negative PR she has been subjected to in recent times. In a heartfelt reflection, the pan-India star expressed her concerns over how easily public figures are misunderstood and labelled, especially when they show genuine kindness.

Known for her warm persona and infectious smile, Rashmika has often found herself at the receiving end of unnecessary negativity online. Whether it’s assumptions made about her based on public appearances or the criticism of her emotional gestures, she revealed that the barrage of trolling has sometimes made her question the environment around her.

“Sometimes, just being nice is taken the wrong way,” she shared, in a recent candid interaction. “There’s a tendency to doubt people’s intentions today. If someone is being kind, it’s often dismissed as a PR stunt or called fake. Why is it so hard to believe that people can be naturally kind?”

The “Pushpa” actress stressed the importance of empathy, urging everyone to refrain from rushing to conclusions. “Everyone has their own battles to fight. You never know what someone’s going through behind the scenes. We’ve created a culture where being vulnerable or real invites criticism. That needs to change,” she added.

Over the years, Rashmika has developed a thick skin, but that doesn’t mean the negative attention doesn’t affect her. Speaking about the mental toll it can take, she said, “There’s a constant pressure to be perfect, to be politically correct, to never have a bad day. But I’m human. I have emotions, I get tired, and I too need space to breathe.”

She went on to address the role of the media and social media narratives in shaping public opinion. Rashmika pointed out how quickly people believe stories that paint celebrities in a bad light, without cross-checking facts or offering benefit of doubt. “When negative PR circulates, it spreads like wildfire. But when there’s something positive, it rarely gets the same attention. That’s unfortunate,” she said.

Despite everything, Rashmika remains grounded and refuses to change her nature. “I don’t want to stop being kind just because someone might think I’m pretending. If my smile or a kind word can make someone’s day better, that’s what I’ll continue doing,” she affirmed.

In her message to fans, trolls, and the general public alike, she urged people to pause and reconsider before jumping to judge someone. “Let people be themselves. Let them breathe. You don’t have to like everyone, but you can choose not to spread hate.”

Rashmika’s honest reflection comes as a powerful reminder of the importance of compassion—not just in the world of celebrities, but in everyday human interactions. Her words strike a chord in today’s world where online toxicity continues to blur the lines between truth and assumption, and where a little more kindness could make all the difference.
