Kartik Aaryan may be winning hearts across the nation, but for Nushrratt Bharuccha, it’s Ranbir Kapoor who continues to reign supreme. In a recent conversation with journalist Shubhankar Mishra, the actress didn’t hold back when expressing her admiration for the Brahmastra star—even when placed against her long-time co-star and industry companion Kartik Aaryan.
Having shared the screen with Kartik in several films including Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Akaash Vani, and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Nushrratt acknowledged the deep connection they share as co-actors. “Kartik and I started out together. We’ve done so many films side by side that now, I can’t view him from a fan’s perspective,” she said. “He’s like a partner-in-crime—there’s a certain chemistry and comfort when we work. It’s almost like second nature.”
But when the topic shifted to Ranbir Kapoor, Nushrratt’s tone changed from familiar camaraderie to genuine awe. Recalling a moment from Rockstar that left a lasting impression on her, she shared, “There’s this particular scene—he’s under Khatana bhai’s house, lost and unnoticed for months, dressed in those Sufi clothes. He just looks up—and that expression, that silence—it was sheer brilliance. That kind of performance is rare, it’s intuitive, and you can’t teach it.”
Although fans often label her admiration for Ranbir as “obsession,” Nushrratt clarified that it’s far more than a fangirl crush. “It’s not about being obsessed,” she laughed. “It’s the deep appreciation I have for his art. I’m enamored by his craft, not his personal life. I barely know him—six days on a film set isn’t enough to know anyone, truly.”
In a playful yet thoughtful moment, Nushrratt was asked to choose between Ranbir and Shah Rukh Khan. She responded with both clarity and grace: “If it’s about acting, it has to be Ranbir. But if we’re talking about romantic chemistry on screen—then Shah Rukh sir, of course.”
Her comments make one thing clear: for Nushrratt, real admiration comes from witnessing an actor’s depth and authenticity on screen. And while professional bonds with colleagues like Kartik may be built over years, her appreciation for Ranbir Kapoor is rooted in the powerful impact of performance—a reminder that true talent leaves its mark, even among peers.
