Akshay Kumar has officially announced the sequel to his 2019 film Kesari, and fans are already excited about Kesari 2. The actor shared a teaser video on social media, giving a sneak peek of what’s to come. The video featured the tagline, “A revolution painted in courage. Kesari Chapter 2,” along with the announcement that the film will hit theaters on April 18. Akshay also revealed that the teaser for Kesari 2 will be released on March 24.
From what’s shown in the teaser, Kesari 2 seems to explore the untold story of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, which took place in 1919. There are rumors suggesting the film might focus on barrister C. Sankaran Nair’s battle to uncover the truth behind this tragic event.
Along with Akshay Kumar, Kesari 2 will also star R. Madhavan and Ananya Panday in important roles, making it even more exciting for audiences.
The first Kesari film, released six years ago, told the courageous story of 21 Sikh soldiers from the British Indian Army who fought against 10,000 Afghan tribesmen in 1897 at the Battle of Saragarhi. Akshay Kumar’s performance as Ishar Singh was widely praised, and the film was hailed as a tribute to Sikh bravery and sacrifice.
