Actress Athiya Shetty and cricketer KL Rahul are overjoyed as they welcome their first child, a baby girl! The couple, who revealed their pregnancy last November, shared the wonderful news with their followers via a touching post on social media. The post featured a heartfelt graphic reading “Blessed with a baby girl” along with today’s date, accompanied by just a baby emoji.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of love from their friends and colleagues in the industry. Celebrities such as Bhumi Pednekar, Shanaya Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, Rhea Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Aditi Rao Hydari, Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon, and Tiger Shroff were among those offering their congratulations.
Athiya’s father, actor Suniel Shetty, had previously shared that the baby was expected in April, mentioning how family conversations had been all about the new addition. He also expressed how, while he has always admired women’s beauty, he found his wife, Mana Shetty, most stunning during her pregnancies. He shared that seeing Athiya in this same phase of life brought back those same feelings.
The couple had tied the knot in a private ceremony on January 23, 2023, at Suniel Shetty’s Khandala farmhouse. In November, Athiya and KL Rahul had shared their pregnancy news with a sweet Instagram post featuring an image of tiny feet and an evil eye symbol, alongside a caption that read, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon 2025.” Fans flooded the couple’s post with messages of love and excitement for the upcoming arrival.
Not long ago, Athiya had also shown her support for her husband during his stellar performance in the ICC Champions Trophy final against New Zealand, posting a picture of herself cheering him on.
