Despite his frequent activity and dedicated engagement with fans, Big B finds his follower count stuck stubbornly at 49 million — and he can’t seem to push past it.
On Monday, Bachchan posted a playful note, humorously voicing his frustration about the situation. He even appealed to his fans for ideas on how to grow his following. “Badi koshish kar rahe hain, lekin yeh 49 million followers ka number badh hi nahi raha hai. Koi upaya ho toh bataiye (I’ve been trying hard, but the 49 million mark just won’t budge. Any solutions, anyone?)” he wrote.
His light-hearted post quickly ignited a flood of witty suggestions and advice from fans. From uploading bloopers, making short reels, to roping in wife Jaya Bachchan for a collaboration — the ideas kept pouring in. Some users even suggested he host fan meet-ups or start following people back, much like WWE star John Cena, to trigger a surge in followers. One cheeky fan wrote, “Show Sooryavansham live,” while another teased, “Try couple postings… those seem to work wonders!”
Amitabh later followed up with another post, graciously thanking his followers for their creative suggestions but revealing — to everyone’s amusement — that none of the tricks had worked so far. “Dhanyawad unn sabka jinhone madad ke kai example bataye ki followers kaise bada sakte hain. Shama chahta hun, ek bhi kaam nahi aaya (Thank you to everyone who offered their advice on increasing followers. Unfortunately, none of them worked),” he wrote.
