Bollywood actress and newly-elected Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut recently opened up about her political journey and whether she envisions herself occupying the highest constitutional position in the country someday. In a candid interaction, the firebrand actress-turned-politician responded to speculations around her long-term political aspirations, including whether she sees herself as a future Prime Minister of India.
When asked directly if she would one day consider vying for the post of Prime Minister, Kangana offered a spiritual and philosophical response rather than a concrete political one. “I can’t say what lies ahead for me,” she said. “Sometimes, I wonder myself why God placed me on this path. I don’t fully know what purpose He has chosen me for. I’m simply walking the road that continues to unfold before me.”
Known for her outspoken nature and bold choices—both in films and public life—Kangana’s journey from the world of cinema to the Lok Sabha has captured nationwide attention. After a successful acting career marked by national awards and high-profile controversies, she entered electoral politics and won the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh in the 2024 general elections, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Commenting on her evolving role in public service, she added, “I’m here to serve. Whether it is through cinema, by telling stories that inspire people, or through politics, by working on-ground and raising voices that go unheard—my intention is to contribute meaningfully.”

Despite her polarizing public image, the actress remains unfazed. “People will always speculate—whether it’s about my films, my statements, or now, my political future. But I’m not guided by people’s expectations. I follow what I feel is right, and I trust that my purpose will become clear with time,” she explained.
