Meera didn’t mince words as she voiced her opinion, stating that such casting decisions reflect a troubling disregard for national sentiment. “At a time when tensions between India and Pakistan are still sensitive, it’s extremely disheartening to see actors from our own country overlooking these realities just to bring in foreign talent—especially from across the border. These people can’t even respect their own country,” she remarked.
Her comment appears to be a direct criticism of Dosanjh, who enjoys immense popularity not only in India but globally. The decision to feature Hania Aamir—an acclaimed Pakistani actress known for her roles in various Urdu dramas—has received mixed reactions from audiences.
