In a revelation that has taken the internet by storm, veteran Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal shared an eyebrow-raising method he once used to recover from a serious injury — drinking his own urine. The actor, known for his versatile performances and comedic timing, opened up about this unconventional remedy, leaving fans in equal parts stunned, confused, and amused.
Reflecting on a difficult period in his life, Rawal recounted being admitted to Nanavati Hospital following a painful knee injury. During his hospital stay, he was visited by none other than Veeru Devgan, the legendary stunt coordinator and father of actor Ajay Devgn. Concerned for Rawal’s health, Devgan offered him a rather shocking piece of advice: to begin consuming his own urine every morning on an empty stomach.
According to Rawal, Devgan passionately vouched for the method, claiming it was a secret followed by many seasoned fighters and stuntmen to maintain their strength and heal swiftly. Alongside this surprising tip, Devgan also advised him to stay away from alcohol, mutton, and tobacco, and to stick to simple, homemade food — all in the name of faster recovery.
Rather than dismissing the advice, Rawal decided to take it seriously. Determined to give it his best shot, he devised a strategy: instead of drinking it all at once, he would sip it slowly, comparing the process to drinking beer. “I thought if I have to do it, I might as well do it properly,” he said. For the next 15 days, Rawal faithfully followed this peculiar regimen.
The results, according to Rawal, were nothing short of miraculous. After two weeks, when the doctors conducted a follow-up X-ray, they were astonished to find rapid healing progress. One doctor, bewildered by what he saw, reportedly asked, “How has this cementing happened so quickly?” Rawal, who was initially told he would need 2–2.5 months of hospitalization, was discharged in just 1.5 months — an outcome he still describes with amazement.
Naturally, the revelation set off a whirlwind reaction online. Social media users wasted no time in expressing their shock, disgust, and disbelief. One user sarcastically commented, “Paresh Rawal now leads the department of waste management,” while another speculated, “Maybe Veeru Devgan was just joking, but Paresh actually went and did it!”
Many couldn’t wrap their heads around the idea, with comments like, “How could someone even think of doing this?” filling timelines. Some fans decided to approach the situation with humor, referencing Rawal’s iconic dialogue delivery. One joked, “Paresh Rawal sipping his own urine: ‘Dawai hai re!'” while another quipped, “This is information I truly wish I had never come across.”
Despite the storm his admission has stirred, Rawal continues to maintain his characteristic humor and calm. The veteran star, loved for his roles in cult classics like Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Oh My God, seems unfazed by the internet buzz, focused instead on his upcoming projects.
On the cinematic front, Paresh Rawal is gearing up for the release of Bhooth Bangla, an upcoming horror-comedy helmed by Priyadarshan, where he will be sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar and Tabu. Adding to the excitement for fans, he will also reprise his iconic role in the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3, alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty — a reunion that promises plenty of laughter and nostalgia.
It remains to be seen whether Rawal’s unusual confession will overshadow his upcoming work, but one thing is certain — he has once again proven that he’s a true original, both on and off the screen.
